1. The Short Version
This policy explains how Afria Technologies LLC ("we"), which makes ChekBuk, uses cookies and similar tools on chekbuk.com and in the ChekBuk app. Read it with our Privacy Policy.
We only use what the site needs to work securely and remember your theme. We don't use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking, we don't let ad networks place cookies through our site, and we don't sell or share cookie data for advertising.
2. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser so it can remember things, like whether you're signed in. Local storage is similar: it saves small bits of information on your device until they're cleared.

These are strictly necessary for the site you asked to use, so most laws don't require your consent. We list them so you know what's on your device.
4. Analytics
We don't use analytics cookies on our site. If we add analytics or any other non-essential cookies, we'll update this policy first and, where the law requires, ask your consent.
5. The ChekBuk App
The app doesn't use browser cookies. It keeps your login tokens in your device's secure storage (such as the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore-backed storage) and saves preferences like theme and notification settings on your device. This stays on your device, is used only to make the app work, and is removed when you sign out, uninstall or clear the app's data.
The app also collects device data and push tokens, as our Privacy Policy explains.
6. Controlling Cookies
Your browser settings let you view, block and delete cookies and local storage. Its help pages explain how. Since our cookies are essential, blocking the session or security cookies may stop you signing in or submitting forms. Clearing local storage resets your theme.
7. Browser Privacy Signals
Do Not Track. There's no agreed standard for responding to it, so our site doesn't change its behaviour. As we don't track across sites, this doesn't affect your privacy here.
Global Privacy Control (GPC). We honour GPC as a valid opt-out of sale or sharing where the law recognises it. We don't sell or share personal information, so it simply confirms what already applies.
8. Changes
When we change this policy, for example because our cookies change, we update the "Last Updated" date. For material changes we'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email or in the app, unless the law requires a change sooner. We'll always update it before turning on any non-essential cookies.
