Why we built ChekBuk.
Moving money across borders is still harder than it should be. The rate you’re quoted isn’t always the rate you get. Fees turn up late. And paying someone you’ve never met, up front, is a risk most people can’t afford.
ChekBuk puts the pieces in one place. Wallets in the currencies you actually use. Conversion at a rate that’s locked before you confirm. And escrow that holds the money until both sides have done their part, with a ChekBuk moderator on every deal.

Afria Technologies builds blockchain, AI and financial infrastructure for the markets the world overlooked. We believe technology can open up equal access to opportunity, to credit and to information.
Our co-founder Hubert Baidoo puts it simply: “In ten years, anyone can build an app. Very few can build what runs beneath it.” That is the work we’ve chosen. ChekBuk is the financial part of it.

- We’re not a bank. ChekBuk is a financial technology company. We don’t hold your money in our own name.
- Licensed partners do the holding. Licensed financial partners hold and move balances. We name the partner for each service in our Terms before you use it.
- Opening in waves. We open market by market, as we put the right licensed partners in place in each one.
- Invite first. For now, accounts open by invite. Join the waitlist and we’ll tell you when your access is ready.
